What previous students say about my workshops :

“… a brilliant life drawing workshop.
With a perfect balance of theory, demonstration and practical, this workshop teaches essential introductory techniques required to undertake life drawing.
David shares his knowledge and skills in a patient and supportive environment allowing students to achieve amazing results in a very short amount of time.
I highly recommend this drawing intensive to anybody who is embarking upon or is wanting to improve their skills in life drawing.” Tania Small, artist, Cambroon

“As a life drawing novice I was a little daunted by the prospect of such an intensive couple of days. I needn’t have worried. David is an excellent teacher, so knowledgeable, patient and supportive. Working with charcoal David took us through all the key elements of life drawing. It was a thoroughly absorbing and enjoyable experience...” Harriet, Buderim

“I spent a wonderful weekend at David’s life drawing class in Maleny and enjoyed it immensely. I was a complete novice prior to participating in the class and David was patient, understanding and thorough in guiding me through the drawing process. I learnt an incredible amount over the course of the weekend and it has inspired me to continue with my life drawing journey. I would recommend David’s classes to anyone, from beginners to practising artists and I will be certainly planning to attend another workshop in the near future. Thanks for a wonderful weekend David!” Jo Winten

“Thank you so much for a most enjoyable and instructive workshop. Your clear instructions and positive feedback helped me to improve my work and you and your model, Sophie, were a joy to work with. It was a great day - plenty of helpful hints, laughter and companionship. I would highly recommend your workshops for beginners and established artists wanting to improve their Life Drawing.” Cheryl Cope

“I recently completed David’s 5 day Anatomical Figure Drawing workshop. David has a lovely approachable and informative teaching style, he was able to meet each participant at their level and assist them to gradually build on their skills and knowledge. On day five of the workshop, the group seemed to hold an overall atmosphere of achievement and pride with their individual growth and progress. I would encourage even the most cautious beginner to give one of David's workshops a try if they wish to improve their drawing (and seeing) skills" - Petra

Other Workshop Options

I have developed a range of different drawing and life drawing workshops including 1 day, 2 days, 5 days and 7 days, catering to different needs and requirements. I also teach Still Life composition and oil painting techniques.

If you are interested in holding a workshop with your art group, art society, or a group of like minded artists, please contact me here and we can discuss a workshop tailored to your groups’ needs and interests.

I developed these courses as a response to my own search for reliable techniques to accelerate and advance my painting and life drawing practice. When used in different combinations, these techniques will give you the foundational skills needed to tackle any drawing with confidence and to paint anything you want to paint.
